ThermoLock KF-S 012
Absolute Fire Barrier (EI 240 / F240)
Specialized mortar for projects with elevated fire-safety requirements. Blocks fire spread for more than 4 hours without releasing toxic smoke. This is a no-compromise solution for protecting load-bearing structures. Certified by Efectis for REI 240 fire resistance. Does not release toxic gases under flame exposure (Smoke Developed 0).
Intended Use: ThermoLock KF-S 012 is a specialized, cost-efficient, multi-purpose non-combustible barrier filler. It was developed specifically for surfaces that require strict fire-safety compliance and a fully non-combustible coating, such as electrical shafts, ventilation shafts, and elevator shafts. It is also ideal for rough thick-layer wall leveling, dramatically reducing project costs where a thick layer of insulating screed is needed or where major level differences must be corrected. Unlike facade-grade formulations, this product is not decorative and is designed to be covered with finish layers later (for example, KF-S 011 or KF-S 020).
Composition: The product is a dry construction mix based on a cement binder and lightweight natural inorganic aggregates—volcanic perlite, pumice, and expanded clay. The material is 100% environmentally friendly (confirmed by LEED and EPD certification) and contains no carcinogens, asbestos, toxic fibers, polystyrene foam, or volatile organic compounds (V.O.C. free). It is available in gray or white.
What It Delivers:
- Absolute Fire Safety: Creates a powerful fire barrier with the highest A1 non-combustibility class. The material layer works as a thermal shield, resisting direct flame exposure above 1000°C for more than 4 hours, as confirmed by the official EI 240 / E 240 classification from Efectis.
- No Toxic Smoke: Under extreme heat, the mineral base does not melt and does not release poisonous or suffocating gases, helping keep evacuation routes safe.
- Reduced Structural Load: Thanks to the porous structure of volcanic minerals, the material is several times lighter than heavy concrete or sand-cement mortars, minimizing static load on the building's load-bearing structure during large-scale wall leveling.
- Thermal and Acoustic Insulation: In addition to its core fire-protection function, the porous composite matrix acts as an insulator, eliminating thermal bridges and effectively absorbing airborne noise.
- Vapor Permeability: Maintains the ability of structures to breathe (high water vapor diffusion), eliminating the risk of condensation buildup and mold formation inside shafts and enclosed cavities.
